Akshardham Temple is located near Lakshmi Nagar in Delhi. The nearest metro station is Akshardham Metro Station. The temple is spread over an area of 356 feet long and 316 feet wide, and the temple's height is 141 feet. This temple is made of red stone and white marble. Surprisingly, no iron or steel was used during the construction of this Akshardham temple. This temple has been constructed according to the Panchashastras.


You will see many beautiful artworks and amazing carvings on the walls of Akshardham Temple. You will also see the statue of Neelkanth Ji inside the temple.   2. Neelkanth Darshan Hall, in which a film based on the life of Swami Narayan is shown.
  3. Sanskrit Vihar Hall, which shows a documentary on the history of India.

Things to Know Before You Go

If you have a wallet, belt or jacket made of genuine leather, you will not be allowed inside. Also, if you have a steel locket, ring, chain or anything like that, you will not be allowed inside. For this, leave all these things at home. If you have a private car then you can keep your luggage in the car also. Or you will have to use the locker built in the temple. But you may have to stand in a long line for the locker.


Apart from this, you cannot bring electronic devices like mobiles, cameras, power banks and weapons, umbrellas, sticks, food, luggage or any pet. Let me tell you in advance that you cannot do photography or videography inside. You may also have to pay a fine for this. You can do all these things from outside the temple. There are huge parking facilities available here with a capacity of 2000 vehicles. So don't worry about it.

Akshardham Temple Timings

Akshardham Temple's opening time is 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. After this, those who are already inside can enjoy the musical fountain show at 8 PM. The Akshardham Temple will be closed on Monday. So you can come here any day except Monday.


In the Akshardham temple, the aarties are performed twice a day. The first aarti occurs at 10 AM and the second aarti is at 6:30 pm. The ticket counter is open from 10 am to 6 pm. If you have taken your tickets before 6 pm then you can stay inside the temple till 8 pm.
